I want more colors to help organize better, maybe and option to change the individual events to certain colors too? I’m a visual person and I like having a color pallet

Jade H Totally hear you on wanting a clear color palette — especially if you’re organizing visually.
In OurCal, the best way to “color-code” events is to use different group calendars. Each group calendar has its own color, so events automatically appear in that color based on which calendar they live in. This gives you consistent, easy-to-scan organization without having to manually set a color on every event.
A simple family setup (Red / Green / Blue example)
🔴 Red — “Family & Must-Do”
Use for things everyone needs to see and prioritize:
• School events, parent-teacher conferences
• Medical appointments
• Family gatherings, birthdays
• Travel days
🟢 Green — “Kids”
Use for child-specific schedules:
• Sports practices & games
• Clubs, lessons (music, tutoring, etc.)
• Playdates
• Field trips
🔵 Blue — “Work & Personal”
Use for adult commitments that affect availability:
• Work meetings
• Personal appointments/errands
• Gym / recurring routines
• Anything that blocks time but isn’t a whole-family event
Quick tip
If you want more colors, you can create more group calendars (for example: Purple = “Meals/Chores” or Yellow = “Holidays/Trips”) and your calendar view becomes a clean color map of your life.
